A total number of 2,314 entries applied for the international section of this edition before the deadline for submissions.
The festival’s secretariat announced that 1,625 works are vying to be selected for the short film category, 500 titles for the feature-length category, and 189 works for the semi-feature category of the prestigious event.
The submitted documentaries are from countries such as Canada, the UK, India, Brazil, Spain, Egypt, Turkey, Italy, Russia, Argentina, the US, China, France, Germany, Mexico, Indonesia, Portugal, and Greece.
The Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) annually organizes the festival which shows the very best of the documentary world to bridge the gap between reality and truth.
The Cinema Verite has a couple of sections, including National, International, and Martyr Avini Prize, Entrepreneurship Documentary Competition, Side Sections and commemorations.
The international section of the festival contains different non-competition sections such Special Displays, Mirror of a Festival, Portrait and Perspective of One Country Documentary Cinema.
The 18th Cinema Verite is scheduled for this December in Tehran.
